A Monthly Curated Newsletter

As we begin a fresh year, it is a good idea to not just evaluate ourselves based on the previous year on how we have been managing our lives, but also to find out ways to become more productive as we move along. In this issue, I'd like to share with you some powerful ideas on productivity and how we can make the best of our resources, time, energy and capabilities. Let's do this!

Why "Done is Better Than Perfect" by Sheryl Sandberg

The CEO of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg, has one of the best success quotes to live by: Done is Better Than Perfect. The innovative products that we know are constantly evolving; and we're not likely to ever reach perfection as no one has. Instead, getting things done is more important than being perfect, and this applies to various areas in our lives.

Creating Time: How to Master the Art of Intentionality

Global economic indicators suggest that despite the additional hours that people work daily, outcomes remain low. Everyone is busy — but that isn’t necessarily translating into productivity. According to Harvard University researchers, our attention wanders away from what we’re doing 46.9% of the time. For both leaders and employees, that’s half the work day. Half a day of not being fully present with tasks and people. This lack of presence is costly.

Sales Operation Specialist
F5 Networks Singapore Pte Ltd

I am truly glad to met Wil-son during my financial planning journey.

Wil-son always put in the extra miles, to manage my expectations, and needs by comparing the policies across the various companies.

Over the years, we became friends, and I could bring up difficult conversations to discuss with him. Thank you for the friendship and for all the advises along the way.

How Chih Wah
Trading Representative (Remisier)

I know Wil-son since primary school, really can't deny his care towards friends and all those who know him.

I think he will be the right person for this career that he is undertaking, you will surely get the kind of attention that you would probably can't get from anyone.

For example, I have not been in touch with Wil-son for a long time, he will still remember my birthday and surely to send my Birthday wishes.

So, vouch his level of care for those he knows.

I will highly recommend Wilson because he is very approachable, genuine yet professional. I have been bombing him with questions to and fro before finalising my decision. But he was very patient and attentive to my needs.

I signed my first policy with him without feeling any pressure and was given ample cooling time to decide. After a couple of years, he still consistently make the effort to engage and follow up on my well-being. He always put customers and their well-being before anything!

Mango Tan
Supportive client and wife

Wil-son is my husband and also our family's financial strategist.

To be honest, I do not like "insurance agents" although I was one myself some years back. I remember how agents always go into telling me how it would be great to start a savings regime and I agree. However, what they didn't tell me is I should probably get a medical plan first so in any event I'm hospitalized, I do not have to burden my family with any medical costs.

My husband believes in starting right with insurance and he helps people manage their money so that having insurance does not becomes a liability.

He feels that people could leverage on insurance to spread their economic risks with the right planning and save them from any unnecessary stress and worries, allowing them to focus on the people they love when they need them.

I would say his value comes from planning with me and not for me.

Wai Fong
Retiree
Client since 2020

2020 has been a trying year for everyone with the ongoing pandemic, and more so for me. In August 2020, I was unexpectedly hospitalized for the first time in my life (besides pregnancy and childbirth, that is) for appendicitis. I was distressed over my health and hit by the realization that I did not have a hospital plan that could cover my hospital bills.

Given my age, I was also unsure on whether insurance companies would be willing to provide me with the adequate coverage. I was then introduced to Wil-son by my daughter, who went the extra mile to search and analyze insurance policies, before patiently explaining and recommending the most appropriate coverage for me.

I am much appreciative for the patience and support rendered by Wil-son during this difficult period and his sincerity and genuine concern towards his clients.

To me, he is not an agent, but a trusted family friend.

Wil-son

I started out in this career believing that buying insurance products was a no brainer as it transfers our risk to the insurers.

Someone once said this to me : Did you know insurance is created by the rich and for the rich?

I guess indeed for the rich, they do have knowledge to capitalize on insurance/investment products to multiply what they already have. Hence, the potential insurance could bring for everyone.

How about the rest of us whom "are not so rich"?

I learnt the foundation of Financial planning and the first thing I did was to plan for my own family. To get rich? Nope. The first things my wife and I focused on was health, accident and protection plans. These do not make us rich.

What these plans does:
1. If we fall sick, we do not become burden to the family
2. If we passed on, our kids are able to survive till they can earn a living and our mothers are taken care of till a ripe old age.

I believe my concept of PROTECTING the family first, is important. How do I plan for others if I cannot even take care of my own family planning first?

I hope my clients could trust me to plan for their protection too.
